Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s Govt On Women’s Issues

Patna (Bihar) [India]: On International Women’s Day, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a fierce attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar‘s government, accusing it of failing to address the issues faced by women in the state effectively.

Tejashwi took to social media to express his criticism, referring to Nitish Kumar as the “self-proclaimed creator of the universe” and “self-obsessed.” He questioned the Chief Minister’s commitment to women’s welfare and accountability for the ongoing challenges faced by women in Bihar.

“Who will tie the bell of these factual figures around the neck of the self-proclaimed creator of the universe, the only knower of the universe and the self-obsessed Chief Minister of Bihar? His Bhunja Party or retired officers??” Tejashwi Yadav wrote on X.

He further added, “After watching this video, you will be able to guess for yourself who respects women in the House and inside Bihar and who is constantly insulting women?”

The video shared by Tejashwi was from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and highlighted several concerning issues, including:

  • 63% of pregnant women in Bihar being malnourished and anemic.
  • A maternal mortality rate of 118.
  • Rising cases of breast and cervical cancer.
  • Only 59% of women in the state using menstrual products.

In his post, Tejashwi also targeted Nitish Kumar’s party (JDU) and retired officers, suggesting that they were unlikely to bring meaningful change. He claimed that the statistics from the Health Ministry would reveal which party truly respects women in the Bihar Legislative Assembly and which one disrespects them.

Earlier on Friday, Tejashwi Yadav participated in a protest organized by the Bihar State University Guest Assistant Professor Association. He expressed support for the guest professors, criticizing the state government for neglecting their years of service and contributions to universities and colleges.

He called on the Bihar government to make a positive decision soon regarding the regularization of service, permanence, and weightage in examinations for experienced and trained professors.
