Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Nitish Kumar After Cabinet Expansion, Says Bihar Needs A “New Vehicle”

Patna (Bihar) [India]: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar following the recent Cabinet expansion, asserting that the people of Bihar no longer want a “Khatara Gaadi” (outdated vehicle) but a “newer one.”

Speaking to media, Tejashwi Yadav accused Nitish Kumar of lacking vision and a roadmap for Bihar, stating that people have given him a chance for 20 years but are now fed up.

“People should look into the background as to how many cases are against those who have been inducted into the (Bihar) cabinet… This is the last cabinet expansion of the CM (Nitish Kumar). NDA will be finished in 2025. The CM is not able to be at the post. He is tired. He has been losing his credibility. The people of Bihar don’t want a Khatara Gaadi (outdated vehicle) but a newer one,” Tejashwi Yadav said.

“JD(U) Hijacked by BJP”
Tejashwi further claimed that the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] has been “completely hijacked” by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the BJP’s ultimate goal is to eliminate JD(U).

“It was not a cabinet expansion of Bihar but of the BJP. JD(U) has been completely hijacked. The BJP wants to finish the JD(U). Many leaders in JD(U) are with the BJP at heart. The BJP wants to be a dominant force here, but their dream will remain a mere dream,” he added.

Bihar Cabinet Expansion
As Bihar prepares for the upcoming Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expanded his Cabinet on February 26, inducting seven BJP MLAs as ministers. The newly appointed ministers include Sanjay Saraogi, Sunil Kumar, Jibesh Mishra, Krishna Kumar Mantoo, Motilal Prasad, Vijay Kumar Mandal, and Raju Kumar Singh.

Nishant Kumar Backs His Father
On February 25, Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, urged the people of Bihar to support his father in the upcoming elections.

“I urge the people of Bihar to vote for Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as he has done a lot of development in the state. Last time, people gave 43 seats. They should ensure that we win more seats in the elections so that we can continue the pace of development,” Nishant Kumar stated.

Bihar Assembly elections are expected to take place in October-November 2025, setting the stage for a heated political battle between the ruling alliance and the opposition.
