Mumbai, Maharashtra, March 24: The teaser for Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated film Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh was unveiled on Monday, offering a haunting and emotional glimpse into the events surrounding the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is set to shed light on the aftermath of the massacre and the struggle for justice.
The teaser takes a unique approach, starting with 30 seconds of only sound, allowing the audience to experience the pain and horror of the massacre through the cries of victims and their families. The anguished voices pleading, “Please stop for God’s sake,” “The doors are locked,” and “Save yourselves, jump into the well,” set the tone for the intensity of the film. A chilling disclaimer, “These visuals are too horrific to display,” warns viewers about the graphic nature of the content.
As the teaser progresses, a powerful voiceover delivers the poignant line: “Don’t forget that you’re still a slave to the British Empire.”
The film, which also stars Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan, will be released in theatres on April 18, 2025. Kesari Chapter 2 is based on the life of India’s top barrister, C. Sankaran Nair, who fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
In addition to this, Akshay Kumar has a busy year ahead. He will be seen in Jolly LLB 3, set for release on September 19, 2025. He is also working on Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan, marking their reunion after several years.
