Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Celebrated Indian fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani captivated audiences on Day 4 of Lakme Fashion Week 2025 with a stunning showcase of his latest collection. His pret label, OTT, unveiled its second collection in partnership with FDCI, blending Indian craftsmanship with contemporary silhouettes.
A Celebration of Heritage and Modernity
The collection featured:
✨ Hand-embroidered chikankari on linen
✨ Reimagined Rabari craft
✨ Versatile silhouettes like flowing capes, evening dresses, and day jackets
Models strutted down the ramp in outfits that seamlessly merged tradition with modern aesthetics, demonstrating Tahiliani’s commitment to versatility and inclusivity.
Designer’s Vision for Contemporary Indian Fashion
Speaking to media, Tarun Tahiliani highlighted how his designs cater to women of all ages and sizes.
“At the end, it was actually like a cape because I keep being told I must make clothes that are not so fitted, so women of all ages and sizes can wear them. You can wear it with pants, over a skirt, over a sari—it’s about adaptability,” he explained.
Tahiliani further emphasized his dedication to preserving Indian heritage in modern fashion, striking a balance between traditional craftsmanship and Western-inspired silhouettes.
“I love our heritage, and that’s what I want to always keep alive in my work. This collection is about keeping India in Indian or Indo-Western silhouettes rather than simply following Western trends,” he added.
