Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has addressed a peculiar issue on Instagram after reports emerged that she had “liked” a reel featuring Deepika Padukone discussing social issues like gender pay gaps, misogyny, and unprofessional work environments.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the Odela 2 star shared a candid selfie along with a humorous note, writing:
“Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own, cause random people are making it news and I have work to do.”
The timing of the post coincides with the ongoing social media buzz surrounding Deepika Padukone and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is directing the upcoming film Spirit. Rumours of Deepika exiting the project and being replaced by actress Triptii Dimri have been dominating headlines.
Vanga recently stirred speculation with a pointed post on X (formerly Twitter), expressing disappointment over a perceived betrayal. While not naming anyone directly, many inferred his comments were aimed at Deepika.
“When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100 per cent faith… You’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are… Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for?” Vanga wrote.
Amid the drama, actress Triptii Dimri, who starred in Vanga’s previous hit Animal, was confirmed as the new female lead in Spirit. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Triptii wrote:
“Still sinking in… So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga… Honoured to be a part of your vision.”
Similar social media confusion had previously involved cricketer Virat Kohli, whose Instagram account seemingly liked a fan page post of actress Avneet Kaur. Kohli later clarified in an Instagram Story that the interaction was unintentional and likely a result of the platform’s algorithm while clearing his feed.
With speculation mounting and digital footprints under constant scrutiny, celebrities are increasingly finding themselves clarifying inadvertent online actions as “algorithmic errors.”
Spirit, directed by Vanga and produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, stars Prabhas in the lead and is one of the most highly anticipated Indian films in developments
