In a year that marks her 20th anniversary as an actor, the beautiful and very talented Tamannaah Bhatia is reflecting on her journey to becoming one of the most popular and adored names in Indian cinema. Known for her work in blockbusters like Baahubali: The Beginning (2015), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), and more recent hits such as Jailer (2023) and Stree 2 (2024), Bhatia’s career has been built on hard work and an unmatchable confidence.
In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Bhatia shared her clear-eyed perspective on the industry, stating, “Nobody gives you work because you’re a nice person. People give you work because you bring something to the table.” She believes that being direct and upfront with one’s ideas is more effective than worrying about how others will perceive you, as it allows opportunities to “bloom” and proves one’s worth.
Bhatia also revealed the empowering mental trick she uses when dealing with men in the industry who try to assert their dominance. She explained that she simply imagines them in a saree or another glamorous outfit, a thought that immediately reminds her of her own unique strengths. “That’s when I realised—what I can do… he can’t. So they will need me,” she shared, crediting this realization with giving her the courage to stand her ground.
Looking ahead, Tamannaah Bhatia is set to shine on screen in the much-anticipated web series Do You Wanna Partner, which premieres tomorrow on Amazon Prime Video. The show, where she stars alongside Diana Penty, follows the duo as they navigate the male-dominated world of a craft beer start-up.
