It’s been 15 years since Farah Khan’s 2010 film Tees Maar Khan hit theatres, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. Though the movie received mixed-to-negative reviews upon release, it went on to achieve moderate box-office success and later gained a cult following, especially among Gen Z audiences. From Akshay and Katrina’s sizzling chemistry to Akshaye Khanna’s impeccable comic timing and the chart-topping hit “Sheila Ki Jawani,” the film remains one of Bollywood’s most memorable heist comedies.
Now, it seems that fans may finally get to see a sequel — Tees Maar Khan 2.
During the latest episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, hosted by Kajol and Twinkle Khanna, filmmaker Farah Khan appeared alongside actor Ananya Panday. The duo discussed several topics, but it was a lighthearted exchange about Tees Maar Khan that stole the spotlight.
Kajol remarked, “Tees Maar Khan didn’t do well but Sheila Ki Jawani did very well. That was a mixed bag.”
Responding with a smile, Farah clarified, “I just want to tell you all, contrary to what people say, it made ₹64 crores — 15 years ago! And it’s a Gen Z cult film now. In fact, whenever people are asked which movie of mine should get a sequel, they always say Tees Maar Khan. Kajol, stop making that face! Ask your son — he’ll love it.”
Twinkle then added, “An early bird that eats the worm did tell me there are some talks about Tees Maar Khan part two.”
That’s when Ananya Panday, visibly excited, jumped in and asked, “Can I be in it?” To which Farah cheerfully responded, “Yeah, you can be in it. You can be Katrina’s younger sister.”
Kajol jokingly added, “Sheila… you’ll be Leela Ki Jawani!” while Farah quipped, “Or Susheela Ki Jawani also you can be!”
The fun banter left everyone laughing — and fans buzzing with excitement over the possibility of a new Tees Maar Khan installment.
If the sequel does move forward, it will be interesting to see whether Akshay Kumar reprises his role as the flamboyant conman or if Farah takes the story in a brand-new direction.
For now, Bollywood fans are left imagining what Tees Maar Khan 2 might look like — and whether Ananya Panday will indeed share the screen with Katrina Kaif as her on-screen sister.
