Sri Lanka vs Oman: Record Total and Dominant Win in Kandy
Sri Lanka set the tone in Kandy with a tournament-high total of 225/5, the highest score of the 2026 edition so far. The hosts then bowled Oman out for 120/9, securing a comprehensive 105-run victory.
Youngster Pavan Rathnayake played a pivotal role, scoring 60 off 28 balls with eight fours and a six. He reached his half-century in just 24 balls, making it the second-fastest fifty by a Sri Lankan in T20 World Cup history.
Kusal Mendis added 61, while captain Dasun Shanaka finished the innings in explosive fashion with a rapid 50 off 19 balls, resetting Sri Lanka’s record for the fastest T20I half-century. His knock included five sixes and two fours, underlining his reputation as a lethal finisher.
Sri Lanka’s total became the fourth-highest in T20 World Cup history and the highest of the current tournament.
Italy vs Nepal: Mosca Brothers Create History at Wankhede
At the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Italy scripted history by registering their maiden T20 World Cup victory.
After bowling Nepal out for 123, Italian bowlers Ben Manenti and Crishan Kalugamage dismantled the middle order. Kalugamage, named Player of the Match, returned figures of 3/18, while Manenti delivered a miserly spell of 2/9 in four overs, choking Nepal’s scoring rate.
In the chase, the Mosca brothers produced a memorable unbeaten partnership of 124 runs, guiding Italy to a 10-wicket win in just 12.4 overs.

Pandya responded to a poor outing in the opener with a fluent 52 off 28 balls, featuring four fours and four sixes, including a massive 109-metre six off Bernard Scholtz. He then starred with the ball, taking 2/21 to earn Player of the Match honours.
Namibia were bowled out for 116, giving India a 93-run victory.
