Washington [US], June 1: Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has officially confirmed her breakup with longtime partner Jonathan Davino, marking the end of their seven-year relationship. The 27-year-old actress spoke publicly for the first time about the split in a recent interview with E! News, two months after reports surfaced that the couple had called off their engagement.
“Yes, I’m single,” Sweeney confirmed, adding, “I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.”
Sweeney and Davino began dating in 2018 and collaborated professionally as well — he co-produced the 2023 romcom Anyone But You, in which Sydney starred alongside Top Gun: Maverick actor Glen Powell. The film’s undeniable on-screen chemistry between Sweeney and Powell sparked widespread dating rumors, which both actors and Powell’s mother consistently denied.
Despite the rumors, Sydney spoke positively about her connection with Powell, saying, “It’s always beautiful to see people fall in love with characters and be supportive of what they see on screen. Glen and I adore each other, so I think we were so happy for the film’s reception.”
The pair recently reunited in Texas for Powell’s sister’s wedding, fueling further speculation about the nature of their relationship. However, Sweeney described the bond as a deep friendship: “When you spend so much time with someone, you become close and you talk to each other about anything. So work, life, family, friends — he’s just there for me. I’m there for him.”
The actress is currently promoting her upcoming thriller Echo Valley and continues to build a strong presence both on and off screen.
