At the Sanatan Sanskriti Jagaran Mahotsav held in New Delhi, Parmarth Niketan President Swami Chidanand Saraswati made a strong case for national unity and the enforcement of constitutional values, while voicing his support for the National Register of Citizens (NRC).
“This is the time to make tough decisions. Sharia can be followed in personal lives, but the nation must be governed only by the Constitution,” said Swami Chidanand.
“Sanatan respects everyone, that is why it has lasted for thousands of years. We don’t attack, but if India is attacked, it’s our responsibility to respond,” he added.
He praised India’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, asserting they will never allow the country’s pride to falter.
On the same occasion, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev took a bold stance on Pakistan’s political instability, claiming the country is on the brink of collapse from within due to growing separatist sentiments in Balochistan, POK, and among Pakhtuns.
“Pakistan cannot even stand for four days in a war against India. The way things are going, we may soon be building the next Gurukul in Karachi or Lahore,” said Ramdev.
The remarks come against the backdrop of growing Indo-Pak tensions following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 people dead.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, also present at the event, assured the nation of a strong and fitting response to terrorism under PM Modi’s leadership.
“Whatever the people want will happen under PM Modi. You know his commitment, risk-taking ability, and work ethic,” Singh said.
The Mahotsav served as a confluence of religious, spiritual, and nationalistic sentiments, with a clear message of zero tolerance toward terrorism and a call to uphold India’s constitutional foundation in the face of domestic and external challenges.
