Suryavanshi was the star of the night, smashing a stunning 101 off just 38 balls, featuring seven boundaries and eleven towering sixes. His century came off just 35 deliveries, making it the second-fastest in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, only behind Chris Gayle’s legendary 30-ball hundred.

Alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a fluent 70 off 40 balls, Suryavanshi stitched together a record 166-run opening stand in just 11.5 overs. Their aggressive partnership left little chance for GT to mount a comeback.
Suryavanshi’s explosive innings ended when he was bowled by Prasidh Krishna. Nitish Rana departed soon after for four runs, falling to Rashid Khan. However, Rajasthan skipper Riyan Parag ensured there were no further hiccups, finishing unbeaten on 32 off 15 balls, sealing the victory along with Jaiswal.
For Gujarat Titans, Rashid Khan was the only bowler who managed to hold some control, finishing with 1/24 amid an otherwise brutal onslaught.
Earlier, half-centuries from skipper Shubman Gill (84 off 50 balls) and Jos Buttler (50* off 26 balls) helped Gujarat Titans post a challenging 209/4.
GT started strongly with a 93-run stand between Gill and Sai Sudharsan, followed by another solid partnership between Gill and Buttler. Despite Maheesh Theekshana’s double strike and wickets from Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma, GT crossed the 200-run mark, setting up what seemed like a strong total.
However, Rajasthan Royals’ fearless batting display, led by the historic knock from Suryavanshi, overshadowed GT’s efforts and delivered a comprehensive win.
Brief Scores:
- Gujarat Titans: 209/4 in 20 overs (Shubman Gill 84, Jos Buttler 50; Maheesh Theekshana 2/35)
- Rajasthan Royals: 212/2 in 15.5 overs (Vaibhav Suryavanshi 101, Yashasvi Jaiswal 70; Rashid Khan 1/24)
