Captain Suryakumar Yadav downplayed the long-standing rivalry between India and Pakistan on the field after India beat Pakistan by six wickets in the Asia Cup Super 4 round. The captain claimed that the word “rivalry” no longer applies because India’s head-to-head record in T20Is is now 12-3.
Suryakumar told reporters after the game, “You guys should stop asking questions about the rivalry between India and Pakistan.” “I think that if the two teams play 15 to 20 games and the score is 7-7 or 8-7, then they are rivals.” I don’t know what the stat is, but this isn’t a rivalry anymore.
India’s Power in White-Ball Cricket
India’s win on Sunday made it clear that they are better than Pakistan in white-ball cricket. Since the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup, the Men in Blue have now beaten their biggest rivals seven times in a row. In both of their recent Asia Cup games, Pakistan looked absolutely overpowered and couldn’t match India’s intensity in either batting or bowling.

Pakistan got off to a good start in their last game, scoring 91 runs in the opening 10 overs. But India’s bowlers got things back on track in the second half, limiting them to 171/5, which was about 20 runs shy of a competitive mark given how well they started.
Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, India’s openers, set the stage for a decisive win with a 105-run opening combination in just 9.5 overs. Abhishek was the best player, hitting 74 runs off of 39 balls. India won the match with seven balls to spare, thanks to Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya.
