Team India skipper Suryakumar Yadav on Monday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s post celebrating the team’s Asia Cup final victory, saying it felt as if the Prime Minister himself was scoring runs for the team.
India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by five wickets in the Asia Cup final on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. The Prime Minister had compared the team’s dominant win to “Operation Sindoor” in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
PM Modi’s Viral Post and Suryakumar’s Response
Following the victory, PM Modi posted, “#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same – India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.”
Suryakumar Yadav, reacting to the Prime Minister’s post, expressed his appreciation to news agency ANI:
“It feels good when the country’s leader himself bats on the front foot; it felt like he took the strike and scored runs. It was great to see, and when the sir is standing in front, then definitely the players will play freely.”
The team skipper added that the support from the nation’s leader serves as a major motivational boost for the players.
“The most important thing is that the whole country is celebrating. When we go back (to India), it will feel good, and we will get more inspiration and motivation to do well,” he added.
The Prime Minister’s unique analogy and the team’s subsequent victory have ignited celebration across India.
