Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Suryakumar Yadav has achieved two remarkable milestones in IPL 2025 during his match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. The dynamic batsman reached a career milestone of 4000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL), with a four off Avesh Khan.
In addition to the 4000-run milestone, Suryakumar also crossed the 150-sixes mark in the IPL during this match. He reached this feat by smashing his first six of the game off Ravi Bishnoi.
Yadav made a valuable contribution with a quickfire 54 off 28 balls, including four fours and four sixes, before being dismissed by Avesh Khan in the 18th over.
The match saw Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant winning the toss and opting to bowl. The opening partnership of MI, consisting of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, made a solid start, with Rickelton blasting 49 off 24 balls in the powerplay. The pair put on a 50-run partnership for the second wicket in just 30 balls.
However, Rickelton was dismissed by Digvesh Rathi for a brilliant 58 (32), which included six fours and four sixes. Suryakumar Yadav then joined Will Jacks, who had made a steady 29 (21). MI reached 100 in the 10th over but soon faced setbacks as Jacks and Tilak Varma were dismissed.
Despite the wickets falling around him, Yadav’s aggressive innings helped MI maintain momentum as the team aimed for a competitive total.
