SURAT, GUJARAT — A terrible event happened in Surat’s Dindoli neighborhood when a 41-year-old schoolteacher named Alpeshbhai Kantibhai Solanki allegedly poisoned his two young daughters, who were 7 and 2 years old, before killing himself. Solanki is said to have done the terrible thing because he thought his wife was cheating on him.
The police have detained Phalguni, the dead man’s wife, and Naresh Kumar Rathod, her accused boyfriend, after the man’s relatives filed a complaint.
Alpeshbhai Kantibhai Solanki was a teacher at a private school in Dindoli. His wife, Phalguni, works as a clerk at the Zila Panchayat office.
Incident Found Out When Wife’s Calls Went Unanswered
The terrible event was revealed when Phalguni, Solanki’s wife, couldn’t get in touch with him by phone. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijay Singh Gurjar says that Phalguni got worried and went to their house, but the doors were closed. Then she told her family, who helped her break down the door to get in.
“Upon entering, they found the children on the bed and a dead Alpeshbhai nearby,” NDTV quoted the police official as saying.
There were diaries, videos, and a suicide note found.
During the subsequent inquiry, authorities found important evidence inside Alpeshbhai’s home, such as a suicide note, two diaries, and multiple recordings from his phone.
Afterward, Alpeshbhai’s brother made an official complaint, saying that Phalguni was having an affair with Naresh Kumar Rathod. The brother told the police that Alpeshbhai was really stressed out because of the affair and killed himself because of it.
The police’s study of the collected materials is starting to give us an idea of how Alpeshbhai was feeling. DCP Vijay Singh Gurjar said that one of the journals showed that Alpeshbhai had been carefully writing down his thoughts and feelings for the past month or two.
“Both diaries have been taken for the sake of the investigation. The suicide note is five to six pages lengthy and is written to his wife and parents. Gurjar said, “The overall content suggests that he was under a lot of stress because of the alleged affair.” He further said, “Only one of the two diaries was written just for his wife.” That diary has all the important information about the issue. Police sources said that the couple had been fighting and arguing a lot because they thought the woman was having an affair.
Police are still looking into the case and trying to figure out what happened and why the deaths were so terrible.
