Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SCP) MP Supriya Sule, leading an Indian all-party parliamentary delegation, held crucial diplomatic talks with Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party, Ethiopia’s ruling party, and met representatives of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union at its headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The delegation was warmly welcomed at Bole International Airport on Friday by India’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Anil Kumar Rai, marking the start of India’s intensified global outreach following Operation Sindoor.

Fighting Terrorism Together
In a significant meeting with former Ethiopian PM Hailemariam Desalegn, the delegation discussed global cooperation against terrorism. Desalegn emphasized the threat of state-sponsored terrorism, urging stronger coordination across the Global South.
“The African Union has solid frameworks to combat terrorism. State-sponsored terror is the most dangerous form. The Global South must unite against this threat,” Desalegn stated.
Supriya Sule echoed this sentiment, condemning the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and asserting India’s firm stand against terrorism.
“We told him what happened in Pahalgam. The attack on India’s soul is unacceptable. India will no longer tolerate any terror act, and our commitment is to global zero tolerance,” Sule said after the meeting, praising Desalegn’s decades-long leadership in Ethiopia.
India’s Global Outreach Post-Operation Sindoor
The Ethiopia visit is part of a broader campaign following Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the Pak-sponsored Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives. The operation, launched on May 7, neutralized over 100 terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The Modi government has dispatched seven multi-party delegations to engage global partners and expose Pakistan’s terror infrastructure, as well as emphasize India’s zero tolerance policy.
These delegations are touring over 30 countries, including:
- Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, UAE
- France, Germany, Italy, UK, Denmark, EU
- Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia
- Russia, Greece, Spain, Slovenia, Latvia
- Liberia, Congo, Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, South Africa
- US, Brazil, Panama, Guyana, Colombia
South Africa Visit Recap
Before arriving in Ethiopia, the delegation had concluded a successful diplomatic outreach in South Africa, holding discussions at India House in Pretoria with political leaders, think tanks, and members of the Indian diaspora.
What Lies Ahead
India’s multi-party diplomatic offensive, unprecedented in scale and coordination, signals a united political front in foreign policy and national security matters. As the delegations continue engagements across continents, India seeks global support in isolating state sponsors of terror and strengthening international cooperation against terrorism.
With Supriya Sule’s leadership and robust cross-party representation, the message from India is clear: Terrorism, in any form and anywhere in the world, will not be tolerated.
