Sunrisers Hyderabad Set New Record For Most 250-Plus Totals In T20s With Explosive 286/6 Against Rajasthan Royals

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 23: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made a statement in T20 cricket by setting a new record for the most 250-plus totals in the format, as they posted a massive 286/6 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their IPL 2025 opener on Sunday.

With this remarkable feat, SRH surpassed the previous record they shared with Surrey, now holding the record for the most 250-plus totals in T20 cricket. Their sensational batting display kept the crowd at Uppal Stadium on the edge of their seats as they continued their dominance from last season.

After a blistering start from the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, SRH made their intentions clear. Abhishek played a whirlwind knock, hitting boundaries at will before being dismissed. Enter Ishan Kishan, who raised the bar with a stunning exhibition of power-hitting. Kishan smashed his first boundary and then accelerated, scoring a quick-fire half-century off just 25 balls, before completing his century in just 45 balls.

After Kishan’s dismissal, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy kept the momentum going, relentlessly pushing for the 300-run mark. Despite Rajasthan’s bowlers tightening the screws in the middle overs, SRH’s aggressive batting saw them finish at 286/6.

In response, Rajasthan Royals fought valiantly with Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70) leading the charge. However, despite a late flurry from Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey, the Royals fell short by 44 runs, handing SRH a dominant victory.
