MUMBAI: The highly-anticipated teaser for Dharma Productions’ new romantic comedy, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, was released this morning, much to the excitement of fans. The film, which stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, is written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, the mind behind the popular “Dulhania” franchise.
The 52-second teaser opens with Varun Dhawan’s character in a playful Baahubali-inspired avatar, setting a lighthearted tone from the start. A quick montage then introduces the rest of the star-studded cast: Janhvi Kapoor in a traditional saree, Sanya Malhotra on the dance floor, and Rohit Saraf making a grand entry reminiscent of Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic scene in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The clip concludes with a comedic exchange between Varun and Janhvi over the difference between a nightclub and a religious gathering, promising a fun-filled ride.
Fan Reactions and Nostalgia
The teaser has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. Many celebrated Varun Dhawan’s return to the rom-com genre, calling it his “prime avatar.” However, much of the praise was reserved for the use of Sonu Nigam’s iconic track, “Bijuriya,” as the background song, which evoked a strong sense of nostalgia for many.
Fans were quick to point out the film’s similar vibes to Khaitan’s previous hits, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Many also expressed their excitement over Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf’s prominent roles, saying the actors are finally getting their due in a major Bollywood production.
