Sunny Deol Gets Emotional At ‘Border 2’ Event In Jaisalmer, Says Original Border Was Inspired By Dharmendra’s Haqeeqat

New Delhi: The cast and crew of Border 2 launched the music video of the emotional song Ghar Kab Aaoge on Friday evening at a grand event held at the amphitheatre near the iconic Tanot Mata Temple in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The launch, attended by thousands including BSF personnel, turned into a deeply emotional moment, especially for Bollywood star Sunny Deol.

Sunny Deol Remembers Father Dharmendra, Says ‘Border Made Me Part Of Soldier Family’

While addressing BSF soldiers, Sunny Deol recalled how his journey with Border began with inspiration from his late father and legendary actor Dharmendra.

“Ever since I did Border, I feel like I’ve become part of your family,” he said. “I did Border because I had watched my father’s film Haqeeqat as a child, and it stayed with me forever. When I became an actor, I spoke to JP Dutta sir and we decided to make a film on the Battle of Longewala because it lives in the hearts of our soldiers.”

He further shared how people across the country have told him that Border motivated them to join the Indian Army.

Sunny Deol Gets Emotional, Recites Powerful Border 2 Dialogue

The moment turned emotional as Sunny Deol admitted he never expected the film to inspire so many youths to serve the nation. Ending his speech, he delivered his powerful dialogue from Border 2:

“Aawaz kahaan tak pahuchni chahiye? Lahore tak!”

His words were met with thunderous applause.

About ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ From Border 2

The emotional track revisits the essence of the iconic song Sandese Aate Hain from JP Dutta’s Border (1997).

About Border 2

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is the spiritual sequel to JP Dutta’s legendary war film. The movie is based on the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
