The long-standing rumors of a rift between veteran actor Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have taken a serious turn. A recent report by Hauterrfly suggests that Sunita has filed for divorce from Govinda at the Bandra Family Court. This comes shortly after Sunita addressed the divorce rumors in an emotional vlog, where she spoke about her faith in divine justice against those trying to “break her home.”
According to the report, Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955. The grounds for the petition are listed as “adultery, cruelty, and desertion.” It is also reported that the court had summoned Govinda on May 25, and since June, the couple has been attempting to reconcile. However, while Sunita has been punctual in her court appearances, Govinda has reportedly been absent from the hearings.
This news follows months of speculation about the couple’s relationship. Earlier this year, reports claimed that Govinda and Sunita were headed for a split due to constant disagreements and different lifestyles. It was also suggested that Govinda’s growing closeness to a younger Marathi actress was a major factor in the alleged separation.
In her recent vlog, Sunita appeared to address the personal turmoil, tearfully speaking about her faith and the challenges she is facing. “I have so much faith in the Goddess that whatever I am witnessing today, I know that whoever tries to break my home, Maa Kaali is there,” she said.
The couple’s lawyer, Lalit Bindal, had previously stated in February that while divorce papers had been filed, the couple was trying to work things out and was “going strong.” However, the latest reports suggest that the situation has escalated, with Sunita pursuing the legal route and alleging serious misconduct. Govinda has not yet publicly responded to the new allegations.
