NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule on Tuesday voiced serious concern over the growing geopolitical instability caused by the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, calling the situation “very stressful” with global implications.
“Whatever is happening in the world is a matter of concern. Things are being said about de-escalation by MEA, PM Modi and President Trump. The geopolitical instability is very stressful… Every war has international repercussions,” Sule told reporters.
Her remarks came shortly after US President Donald Trump announced a “complete and total ceasefire” agreement between Iran and Israel, aiming to end the 12-day war that has rocked the Middle East since June 13.
According to Trump, Iran was to initiate the ceasefire first, with Israel following 12 hours later, and a full official truce to be declared after 24 hours. However, the fragile peace deal appeared short-lived.
Iran Violates Ceasefire; Israel Promises Harsh Response
Israel Defence Minister Israel Katz accused Iran of breaking the ceasefire agreement by firing two ballistic missiles at Israel. Both missiles were successfully intercepted. Katz confirmed he had ordered the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) to carry out “intense strikes” targeting Iranian regime assets in central Tehran, The Times of Israel reported.
“In light of the grave violation of the ceasefire by the Iranian regime, we will strike with force,” said IDF Chief of Staff Lt General Eyal Zamir during an ongoing threat assessment.
Northern Israel briefly came under threat again when sirens warned of new missile launches from Iran, forcing residents to seek shelter.
Tensions Fuelled by Weeks of Military Operations
The recent hostilities began when Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion”, a large-scale offensive targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites. Iran responded with “Operation True Promise 3”, focusing missile and drone attacks on Israeli fuel and energy infrastructures.
The situation escalated sharply after the US struck three Iranian nuclear facilities under “Operation Midnight Hammer,” prompting Tehran to retaliate with missile barrages on US bases in Qatar and Iraq, including the strategic Al Udeid Air Base.
India, Global Community Monitor Situation Closely
India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have called for restraint, underlining that such conflicts have serious international repercussions affecting energy prices, trade, and regional stability.
Supriya Sule emphasized that this instability threatens global peace and economic stability, and urged for diplomatic solutions over military escalation.
Conclusion
As Israel vows a “forceful response” to Iran’s ceasefire breach, the risk of the conflict spiraling further remains high. The fragile ceasefire hangs in balance, with world powers like India, the US, and the UN urging both nations to avoid further escalation and return to dialogue.
The next 24–48 hours are likely to determine whether peace talks survive—or give way to a broader regional conflict.
