After a controversial event during his livestream on Tuesday, October 7, Twitch streamer Hasan Piker is now facing a lot of charges of abusing animals. The event, which spread swiftly, involves Piker’s dog Kaya, a husky mix who is often shown on his feeds.
When Piker yelled at Kaya as she walked out of the camera’s view, it happened. After Piker yelled at the dog, it was heard yelping in pain, which led to a lot of discussion online.
Past Admission Sparks Shock Collar Accusations
A lot of people on social media, including fellow streamer and YouTuber Ethan Klein of h3h3 Productions, said that Piker used a shock collar to punish Kaya for abandoning her location on the stream.
Piker’s Past Admission: People on social media made even more guesses when they pointed out that Piker had already said in one of his streams that he owned a dog collar for Kaya.
“Prop” Accusations: Critics say that Piker “tortured” or cruelly trained the dog to be a “prop” so that she would stay still and be seen on camera during his broadcasts.
Ethan Klein calls Piker’s “horrifying animal cruelty”
Ethan Klein was one of the first famous people to speak out against Hasan Piker over the alleged animal abuse. Klein, who is known for his long-running YouTube channel, directly accused Piker on the official h3h3 Instagram account:
Klein writes, “Hasan filmed horrifying animal abuse when he turned on her shock collar for one tiny step off her bed.” “She cries because she’s in pain, poor baby.” It always struck me as quite strange that his young, active puppy never left her bed. This has to be because of some very harsh training.
Hasan Piker, who is also renowned for being very pro-Palestine, started to trend on social media after Klein’s tweet. This was because more and more people were accusing him of being cruel to animals.
