Fans of Stranger Things have a new story to look forward to with the upcoming animated spin-off Stranger Things: Tales From ’85. The sci-fi animated series expands the popular universe created by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, bringing audiences back to the mysterious town of Hawkins.

The animated series will stream on Netflix starting April 23, 2026. Set in the winter period between seasons two and three of the original show, the story continues to explore the supernatural events surrounding Hawkins.
Storyline
The series follows the core group of friends—Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Max—who are trying to live normal lives after previous battles. However, peace in Hawkins doesn’t last long as a new terrifying threat emerges beneath the snow, forcing the group to face dangerous creatures once again.
The spin-off retains the nostalgic 1980s setting, blending small-town mystery, supernatural horror and the strong bond of friendship that made the original series a global hit.
Voice Cast
The animated show features a fresh voice cast bringing the beloved characters to life. Actors include Brett Gipson as Jim Hopper, Luca Diaz as Mike Wheeler, Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Braxton Quinney as Dustin Henderson, Elisha Williams as Lucas Sinclair, Ben Plessala as Will Byers, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max Mayfield and Jeremy Jordan as Steve Harrington.
The series is produced by the Duffer Brothers along with Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen under the banner of Upside Down Pictures.

After the massive success of Stranger Things on Netflix, the creators have been working on multiple spin-offs to expand the franchise.
