Jaipur, Rajasthan – A shocking and brutal murder has plunged Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, into turmoil, sparking communal unrest and street protests. A 22-year-old man, identified as Vipin alias Vicky, was stabbed to death in the Jamdoli area of the city in what police suspect was a revenge attack.
The alleged perpetrator, Anas Khan, reportedly killed Vipin over an old rivalry, according to PTI. Police stated that the two had a long-standing feud. On Sunday night, Anas and his accomplices reportedly confronted Vipin near his home. An argument escalated, leading to Anas stabbing Vipin multiple times before fleeing the scene.
Vipin was rushed to SMS Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The sheer brutality of the act and the brazenness that followed have sent shockwaves through the city. Following the stabbing, the accused, Anas Khan, allegedly posted a chilling video on social media, brandishing the murder weapon and claiming responsibility for the crime. Although the video was quickly deleted, it had already circulated widely, further inflaming tensions.
The incident has triggered widespread protests across the Rajasthan capital. Angry crowds have taken to the streets, clashing with police, throwing stones, and attempting to block the Jaipur-Agra highway, NDTV reported. Police personnel have been heavily deployed to the area to maintain law and order.
Murder Case Filed, Suspects Detained
Police have registered a murder case against nine individuals and have detained four suspects for questioning. A special team has been formed to track down Anas Khan, who is currently at large.
Meanwhile, protestors have refused to accept Vipin’s body for his last rites, staging a sit-in outside the police station. Their demands include Khan’s immediate arrest, financial compensation for the victim’s family, and a government job for one of his relatives.
