SRK References Jawan’s ‘Baap-Beta’ Dialogue In New Promo For Mufasa: The Lion King

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 3: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who voices the character of Mufasa in the Hindi version of Disney’s upcoming film Mufasa: The Lion King, has shared his excitement about his new role in a recently released promo. In the video, SRK humorously draws a parallel between his iconic Jawan dialogue, “Bete ko haath lagane se pehle, baap se baat kar,” and the legendary father-son relationship between Mufasa and Simba.

In the promo, Shah Rukh Khan reflects on his deep connection with the character of Mufasa, joking that he decided to take on the role partly because he felt his own hair resembled Mufasa’s majestic mane. SRK’s voice will bring the regal authority and wisdom of Mufasa to life, alongside his son Aryan Khan, who voices Simba, and even his youngest child, AbRam, who will voice young Mufasa.

Earlier, the trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King was unveiled, offering a captivating look at the jungle world and introducing a star-studded voice cast. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan, other voices include Sanjay Mishra as Pumbaa, Shreyas Talpade as Timon, and Meiyang Chang as Taka.

The trailer features a tender moment with Timon and Pumbaa before shifting to a scene where young Mufasa, visibly upset, meets Taka, another cub. Mufasa defends himself against accusations of being a wanderer, saying, “Mai awara nahi, mai to bas kho gaya hu” (“I am not a wanderer; I am just lost”). The trailer builds to a powerful moment where Mufasa must step into his destiny.

In a previous statement, SRK shared his personal connection to Mufasa, saying, “Mufasa has an incredible legacy and stands as the ultimate king of the jungle, imparting his wisdom to his son, Simba. I deeply relate to him as a father and also resonate with Mufasa’s journey in the film.”

Mufasa: The Lion King will hit cinemas on December 20, 2023, in English, Hindi, and Tamil.
