Shah Rukh Khan Becomes First Indian Male Actor To Attend The Met Gala, Channels ‘King Khan’ Energy In Iconic Look

New York [US]: Shah Rukh Khan made history on Monday as he became the first Indian male actor to attend the prestigious Met Gala, widely regarded as Hollywood’s most glamorous fashion night.

Before gracing the iconic steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, SRK greeted a sea of fans outside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. Videos circulating online showed the superstar warmly interacting with his fans—shaking hands and blowing kisses.

Popular fashion watchdog Diet Sabya also shared a video capturing SRK’s exit from his hotel. Dressed in a sleek all-black ensemble designed by Sabyasachi, Shah Rukh radiated elegance and charisma. His look was elevated by the addition of a tiger sceptre, giving off strong modern Maharaja vibes.

The centerpiece of his outfit, however, was a standout ‘K’ necklace—an eye-catching tribute to his beloved nickname “King Khan,” bestowed upon him by fans and the media. He also sported layered gold chains cascading over his chest, adding to the regal flair.

SRK was joined by his longtime manager, Pooja Dadlani. As visuals of his Met Gala debut surfaced online, fans across social media platforms like X and Instagram were quick to express their admiration.
“How cool,” a user commented.
“Dapper,” added another.

A day prior to the event, designer Sabyasachi confirmed his landmark collaboration with Shah Rukh through Instagram Stories.
In one story, he wrote: “KING KHAN.”
He followed it with another post stating: “KING KHAN BENGAL TIGER”, alongside his brand’s signature logo featuring a royal Bengal tiger.

For those unfamiliar, the Bengal tiger is a recurring symbol of strength and majesty and is closely tied to Sabyasachi’s brand identity.

Shah Rukh’s attire perfectly embodied the theme of the Met Gala 2025: “Tailoring Black Style.” Sabyasachi himself also walked the carpet at this year’s event.

Other Indian celebrities who attended the Met Gala this year include Kiara Advani, Priyanka Chopra, and Isha Ambani, further showcasing India’s growing presence on the global fashion stage.
