Hyderabad, India- Fish Venkat, a beloved Tollywood actor and comedian, died in Hyderabad on July 18, 2025. He was 53 years old and had been fighting kidney problems for a long time, which eventually caused his organs to fail. His death came even though his family was begging the Telugu film industry for money and aid finding a suitable kidney donor for a transplant that would save his life.
Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood has given Venkat’s bereaved family money right away as a sign of sympathy. According to a press release from his team, Sood sent ₹1.50 lakh to Venkat’s family after he found out he had died.
Sonu Sood’s Quick Reaction
The news release said that Sonu Sood had first offered to help since he thought Fish Venkat was still in the hospital and needed help. He was said to be astonished and sorry to hear that the actor had died because his health had gotten worse. When Sood heard of Venkat’s death, he quickly sent ₹1.50 lakh to the family to help them deal with their immediate financial problems while they were grieving.
In addition to giving money, Sood also called Venkat’s family, especially his wife, to talk to them. He promised them that he would keep helping them in the future. This made Venkat’s wife very happy, and she said that her late husband liked Sonu Sood.
A Fight with Kidney Failure and Help from the Industry
Earlier this month, Fish Venkat was taken to the ICU because his kidneys had failed badly, and he had been living on regular dialysis. His family had talked about their money problems in public and said that they needed about ₹50 lakh right now for a kidney transplant.
At first, the family experienced a setback when someone pretending to be actor Prabhas’ manager tricked them into thinking they could aid them after they asked the media for help. But soon after, real help started to come from the Tollywood community. Vishwak Sen and Sonu Sood, among others, quickly offered to help. Pawan Kalyan, an actor and politician, had also given the family some money when he found out that Venkat was sick. Even though they tried, they couldn’t find a compatible kidney donor in time, and Venkat’s health kept getting worse until he sadly died from multiple organ failure.
Fish Venkat’s Legacy
Fish Venkat, whose full name was Mangalampalli Venkatesh, was a well-known personality in Telugu film. He was known for his unique Telangana accent and sense of timing. After a funny scene in a fish market went viral, he got the nickname “Fish Venkat.” He had been in more than 100 movies, and his real performances, which often included humor and a distinct regional character, kept people interested.
Earlier this year, he was last seen in the movie Coffee with a Killer. This year, Sonu Sood wrote, directed, and produced the Hindi movie Fateh. Also, a project that had been put on hold, Madha Gaja Raja, which stars Vishal in Tamil, was brought back to life and released this year.
His wife Suvarna and daughter Sravanthi are still alive.
