‘Sky Force’ Team Unveils Patriotic Anthem ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon’

The team behind the highly anticipated film Sky Force unveiled the reimagined version of the iconic song Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon on Monday, capturing the film’s spirit of patriotism and pride.

Originally sung by the legendary Lata Mangeshkar, the song’s timeless lyrics by Kavi Pradeep and the masterful composition by C. Ramchandra have been cherished for decades. Music producer Tanishk Bagchi, who reworked the song, expressed the immense responsibility of preserving its soul while making it resonate with today’s generation.

Tanishk Bagchi on the Song’s Legacy

“Working on Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon has been an emotional journey,” said Bagchi. “This iconic song, brought to life by Lata Mangeshkar ji, the profound words of Pradeep ji, and C. Ramchandra ji’s composition, is a cornerstone of India’s musical and patriotic heritage. I approached it with immense respect and humility.”

About the Film ‘Sky Force’

Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force chronicles India’s heroic retaliatory strike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pak war. The film highlights the valor of Indian Air Force (IAF) officers who turned the tide in a battle against overwhelming odds.

The cast includes:

  • Akshay Kumar in a lead role.
  • Veer Pahariya as squadron leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, a real-life hero of the 1965 war.
  • Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles.

The movie is set to release in theaters on January 24, 2025, ahead of Republic Day.

Veer Pahariya on His Role and Inspiration

In an interview, debutant Veer Pahariya shared his aspirations for the film, drawing parallels with Hrithik Roshan’s Lakshya, which inspired many to join the armed forces. “Playing squadron leader Devayya, a hero of the 1965 war, is both a huge opportunity and responsibility. This story needs to be told for future generations to appreciate the sacrifices made for our freedom,” he said.

He described Sky Force as a story of family, brotherhood, friendship, and loyalty. “I hope this film inspires young Indians for decades to come, just as Lakshya did. It’s a tribute to our forefathers who fought so we could live freely today.”

Why Watch ‘Sky Force’?

The film promises to blend intense aerial combat sequences with a heartfelt narrative of camaraderie and courage, providing both inspiration and entertainment. As Veer aptly puts it, Sky Force is a story to watch, learn, and remember the sacrifices that shaped India’s history.
