Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 29 : After a decade-long hiatus from direction, actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah is all set to return behind the camera with his long-cherished dream project titled Killer. His last directorial venture was the 2015 musical thriller Isai.
Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), SJ Suryah shared the big news along with heartfelt thanks to producer Gokulam Gopalan of Sree Gokulam Movies, who is backing the project along with Suryah’s own Angel Studios. “Hi folks, Ur Director S.J.Suryah is bk with his Dream project titled, Yah U know it #KILLER… feeling blessed and happy to collaborate with the most prestigious @GokulamMovies,” he wrote, also teasing actress Preethi Asanari as the “Killer Girl” of the film.
Alongside the announcement, Suryah shared a series of photos with producer Gokulam Gopalan, marking the beginning of what he calls one of his most personal projects yet.
Several prominent South Indian cinema celebrities have come forward to congratulate Suryah on his directorial return. Actor and director Raghava Lawrence expressed his excitement, saying, “More than a director, I know your biggest dream is to become a lead actor. May Killer give you the biggest success as a Hero.”
Actor Dhanush also extended his support, saying, “I know how passionate you are about this project. Looking forward.” Meanwhile, Silambarasan TR, fresh from his appearance in Thug Life, called Suryah “a storyteller we’ve always admired” and wished him success.
In parallel with his directorial comeback, SJ Suryah will also be seen on screen alongside actor Ravi Mohan in the upcoming film Bro Code, directed by Karthik Yogi of Dikkiloona fame. Ravi Mohan will produce the film under his newly launched banner, Ravi Mohan Studios. The release date is yet to be announced.
With Killer, Suryah not only returns as a director but also looks to fulfill his aspiration of leading as an actor once again, bringing anticipation and excitement among fans and peers alike
