Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: Indian pacer and Gujarat Titans (GT) star Mohammed Siraj celebrated a major career milestone on Sunday, becoming the latest bowler to reach 100 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Siraj achieved the feat during GT’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Uppal Stadium — a special venue for him as it serves as his home ground in domestic cricket.

‘Miyan’, as he is affectionately called by fans and teammates, was in electrifying form. He delivered a sensational spell, finishing with figures of 4/17 in four overs at an economy rate of just 4.20. These are now his best-ever bowling figures in the IPL.
With this performance, Siraj now has 102 wickets in 97 IPL matches at an average of 28.88 and an overall economy rate of 8.60.
In the ongoing IPL 2025 season, Siraj has been in lethal form. In just four matches, he has taken nine wickets at an average of 13.77 and an economy of 7.75. His spell against SRH is now his best in the league and has propelled him to joint-second in the race for the Purple Cap this season.

Coming back to the match:
After winning the toss, Gujarat Titans elected to bowl first. SRH once again struggled at the top, with Travis Head (8), Abhishek Sharma (18), and Ishan Kishan (17) all falling cheaply, leaving them at 50/3.
A brief recovery came through a 50-run stand between Nitish Kumar Reddy (31 off 34 balls, including three fours) and Heinrich Klaasen (27 off 19 balls, with two fours and a six). Later, skipper Pat Cummins played a spirited cameo of 22* off just nine balls (three fours and a six) to help SRH finish at 152/8 in their 20 overs.
Besides Siraj, GT bowlers Prasidh Krishna (2/25) and Sai Kishore (2/24) also impressed with tight spells, helping restrict the home side to a below-par total.
