Dubai [UAE], July 12: Tajikistani singer and internet personality Abdu Rozik was arrested at Dubai International Airport early Saturday morning, as confirmed by the company managing him.
Rozik, who had just arrived from Montenegro, was taken into custody around 5 am. The precise reason for the arrest has not been officially disclosed, but a representative told Khaleej Times that the singer is being held on allegations of theft. Authorities have yet to release a formal statement regarding the case.
Abdu Rozik rose to fame with his music, viral online content, and reality TV stints, notably as a participant in Bigg Boss 16. Known for songs such as Ohi Dili Zor, Chaki Chaki Boron, and Modar, Rozik gained a significant following across South Asia.
He made headlines in 2022 after performing at the IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi, where he sang the Bollywood classic Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. In 2024, he was questioned by India’s Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering probe involving a hospitality firm. While he was not named as an accused, the questioning drew media attention.
