Silent Hill 2 (Remake) Surpasses 5 Million Players Worldwide, Konami Confirms

The remake of the iconic horror game Silent Hill 2 (Remake) has surpassed five million players worldwide, publisher Konami confirmed on Thursday.

The figure includes digital and physical copies shipped, store downloads, and players accessing the game through subscription services across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, according to the company.

The milestone was announced by both Konami and developer Bloober Team on their official social media channels.

Player Numbers Boosted by Subscription Services

The total player count does not strictly represent unit sales, as it also includes players who accessed the game through subscription platforms.

A major contributor to the surge in players was the game’s addition to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue in October. The survival horror title likely attracted a large number of new players through the service.

The remake also received a boost after launching on Xbox Series X and Series S in November. Initially, the game debuted in 2024 as a console exclusive on the PlayStation 5, alongside a PC release.

Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f Discounted on PS5

To celebrate the milestone, Konami has announced major discounts for both Silent Hill 2 (Remake) and the upcoming series entry Silent Hill f on the PlayStation Store.

Currently, the Deluxe Editions of both games are available at 50% off for PS5 players.

In India, the discounted prices are:

  • Silent Hill f: ₹2,849
  • Silent Hill 2 Remake: ₹2,399

Players can also purchase a dual pack that includes the Standard Editions of both games for ₹4,319, reflecting a 40% discount.

Meanwhile, subscribers of PlayStation Plus Extra or Deluxe/Premium tiers can access Silent Hill 2 Remake at no additional cost through the Game Catalogue.

Next Silent Hill Game Coming in 2026

Konami is also preparing to expand the franchise with the upcoming title Silent Hill: Townfall.

The game is being developed by Screen Burn and is described as a “full-length, self-contained psychological horror” experience.

Set in Scotland in 1996, the story will introduce a new protagonist and setting within the Silent Hill universe.

Silent Hill: Townfall is expected to launch in 2026 for:

  • PlayStation 5
  • PC via Steam
  • PC via Epic Games Store

Silent Hill Franchise Momentum Continues

With five million players and growing interest in upcoming titles, the Silent Hill franchise appears to be experiencing a strong revival. The success of Silent Hill 2 Remake has helped reintroduce the classic psychological horror series to a new generation of players while maintaining its appeal among longtime fans.
