Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 26: The highly anticipated sequel Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, is set to hit theatres on August 1, 2025.
The announcement came alongside the unveiling of new posters by Dharma Productions on Monday.
Sharing the update on Instagram, Dharma Productions wrote, “Marne aur ladhne mein se ek ko chunna ho toh ladhna. #Dhadak2 aa rahi hai cinema gharo mein – 1st August 2025” (“If you ever have to choose between dying or fighting, then choose to fight”). The powerful message hints at the film’s emotional and dramatic core.
The posters show Siddhant and Triptii embracing tightly, portraying a bond that appears ready to defy societal challenges.
Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 delves into a love story that confronts deep-rooted societal norms, tackling issues like class divide and social discrimination. Siddhant’s character embarks on a journey of love that dares to cross boundaries defined by status and convention.
The film serves as a spiritual sequel to Dhadak (2018), which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter and was a Hindi adaptation of the acclaimed Marathi film Sairat. Like its predecessor, Dhadak 2 is expected to explore sensitive themes such as caste and systemic inequality through a romantic narrative.
Initially scheduled for release in November 2024, the film will now premiere in August 2025, promising a powerful cinematic experience.
