Shreyas Iyer Named ICC Men’s Player Of The Month For March 2025 After Stellar Champions Trophy Performance

New Delhi [India], April 15: Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March 2025, edging out New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra, according to a release by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Iyer’s exceptional performances during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, held across Dubai and Pakistan, saw him top-score for India with 243 runs, playing a key role in India’s title-winning campaign. His consistency and composure in the middle-order were crucial in steering India through high-pressure situations, earning him widespread acclaim.

This marks the second consecutive month that an Indian cricketer has secured the honor, with Shubman Gill winning the award for February.

Reacting to the announcement, Iyer said, “I’m truly honoured to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for March. This recognition is incredibly special, especially in a month where we lifted the ICC Champions Trophy — a moment I will cherish forever. Being able to contribute to India’s success on such a big stage is something every cricketer dreams of. I’m grateful to my teammates, coaches, and support staff for their unwavering support and belief.”

The 30-year-old cricketer racked up 172 runs in three matches during March alone, maintaining an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 77.47. He was also the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament overall, just 20 runs short of Rachin Ravindra, underscoring his consistent impact.

Iyer’s recognition by the ICC adds yet another feather to his cap and further cements his importance in India’s batting lineup, especially during major international tournaments.
