Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Amid ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, renowned Indian playback singer Shreya Ghoshal has announced the postponement of her much-anticipated concert in Mumbai, which was part of her All Hearts Tour.
The concert was slated for May 10, 2025, at Jio World Garden, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. However, in light of the nation’s current security situation, Ghoshal took to Instagram to share her decision.
“With a heavy heart, I want to share that my homecoming concert in Mumbai… will be postponed due to the current events unfolding in our beloved country,” she wrote.
Shreya emphasized her sense of responsibility as both an artist and a citizen, stating that the decision reflects solidarity with the nation during this critical time.
“This is not a cancellation, just a postponement. We will reunite soon, stronger and more united than ever.”
She confirmed that all tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date, and BookMyShow, the event’s exclusive ticketing partner, will reach out to ticketholders with updates.
Concert Postponement in Context:
The decision follows heightened military conflict between India and Pakistan. On May 8, India conducted Operation Sindoor, destroying nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
Following the strike, the Pakistani military launched a coordinated drone and missile offensive on the night of May 8–9, targeting Indian military infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir and the western border.
“Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions… The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to ceasefire violations and remains committed to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty,” said an Army spokesperson.
In total, 300–400 drones were used, many of which were intercepted by Indian defence systems, including the indigenously developed Akash surface-to-air missile system.
Public Safety Measures:
The government has responded with stringent national security measures, including:
- Closure of 28 airports across Northern and Western India until May 15
- High alert status across key cities including Mumbai
- Deployment of advanced air defence systems along the western frontier
Reactions and Support:
Shreya Ghoshal’s announcement was met with an outpouring of support from fans and the music community. Many praised her for prioritizing national solidarity and public safety over commercial interests.
