Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 16 : The much-anticipated second season of the music drama Bandish Bandits has officially premiered on Prime Video. Released on December 13, the series brings back Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry in their roles as Radhe and Tamanna. The show also features a talented ensemble cast, including Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang, and Kunaal Roy Kapur, alongside new additions like Divya Dutta, Rohan Gurbaxani, and Yashaswini Dayama.
In this season, Divya Dutta portrays the emotionally charged character of Nandini, who deals with the pain of unrequited love and memories of her lost lover, Imroz Dehlvi (played by Arjun Rampal in a cameo).
Shreya Chaudhry opened up about her experience working alongside the renowned actress, sharing how nervous she initially felt. “If you’ve seen Season 2, the standout for me is the beautiful track between Nandini and Tamanna. I wish everyone could have a teacher like her. Personally, Divya Ma’am was that teacher for me. I’ve always admired her as an actor, and I was so excited to work with her. She is such a warm and giving person with a strong personality,” said Shreya.
Reflecting on her initial shyness, she added, “At first, I was very formal and shy. I would just say my lines and leave. One day, Divya Ma’am called me and asked, ‘Why are you so formal with me?’ She really shook me up, and now we are friends. Having that bond with her is something I am truly grateful for.”
Shreya also spoke about the extensive effort that went into creating the second season, revealing that filming began in late 2022 after months of workshops and training sessions. “Anand Sir comes from a theatre background, so he emphasizes workshops a lot. We all worked very hard, and with so much dedication, we created this show,” she shared.
Bandish Bandits Season 1, which debuted in August 2020, garnered widespread praise for its unique blend of Indian classical music and modern pop culture. Featuring veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, the first season was lauded for its strong performances, music, and storytelling.
Season 2 of Bandish Bandits is produced by Leo Media Collective Private Limited, with Amritpal Singh Bindra as the creator and Anand Tiwari directing. The series is available for streaming in India and across 240+ countries worldwide.
