Actress Shraddha Kapoor has shared a health update after reports surfaced on November 22 regarding an injury sustained on the set of her upcoming film, Eetha. The actress confirmed that she has suffered a muscle tear but assured fans she will be “absolutely fine.”
Health Update and Injury Details
During an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Instagram, Shraddha responded to a fan’s question about her leg injury by sharing a video showing her leg in a cast.
- Diagnosis: “Terminator ki tarah ghoom rahi hoon. Muscle tear hai. Theek ho jaayega. Bas thoda rest karna hai but I’ll be absolutely fine,” she said (I am roaming around like a Terminator. It’s a muscle tear; it will heal soon. I just need a bit of rest, but I’ll be absolutely fine).
- Cause of Injury: Reports indicate the injury occurred while shooting a high-energy Lavani dance sequence for Eetha. A source revealed that Shraddha, who had gained over 15 kilos to portray a young Vithabai, mistakenly put all her weight on her left foot during a quick-tempo step, causing her to lose balance.
Focus on ‘Eetha’ and Challenging Roles
Shraddha confirmed that she is currently working on Eetha, a film directed by Laxman Utekar which is reportedly a biopic on legendary Tamasha artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar. The actress, who will be seen in a vibrant Nauvari saree for the dance number, shared her enthusiasm for the challenging role:
- Role Focus: “It revolves around the world of start-ups. It is based on hustle culture. For me, it’s a new kind of role, and it’s challenging,” she stated.
- New Approach: She added that she is now “consciously deciding to take on roles where I am challenged as an actor and where I play an active character,” committing to a thoughtful selection process for her upcoming films.
