Shooting At Dallas ICE Facility Leaves Two Dead, FBI Investigates As “Targeted Violence”

DALLAS – Reports from The Daily Mail and Fox News say that two detainees and the shooter died in a shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in Dallas on Wednesday. Sources say that the suspect is Joshua Jahn, who shot himself and died from the wound.

Officials haven’t officially confirmed who the suspect is yet; however, FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted a picture on X (previously Twitter) showing gunshot casings that were found at the scene but weren’t used. It was easy to see that one of the casings had the words “ANTI-ICE” carved into it. Patel called the event a “act of targeted violence” with an “ideological motive.”

The Dallas Police Department said that officers answered a plea for help about 6:40 a.m. and found that someone had shot at the federal building from a nearby building. Authorities are looking into the likelihood that the gunman was a sniper who shot from a high place. The people who were hurt were all in ICE custody, and no police personnel were hurt in the attack.

The FBI is in charge of the investigation and is looking into the incident as a “targeted” and “politically motivated” act of violence. FBI Director Patel said in a statement on social media that these attacks are “not a one-off” and linked to a similar ambush at another ICE facility in Prarieland, Texas, just two months ago. He said that the FBI and its partners “will lead these investigative efforts to make sure that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice.”

The event has brought up worries about political speech and violence against police. Officials have told the public to “be patient, stay calm, and let our law enforcement partners…do their job.”
