Filmmaker Recalls Theatre Journey in Delhi
On the occasion of World Theatre Day, acclaimed filmmaker Shoojit Sircar took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, recalling his early days in Delhi’s theatre scene.
Sircar shared a black and white photograph on Instagram, reminiscing about his time with the amateur theatre group ‘Act One’, where he honed his storytelling skills.

Sircar’s Cinematic Journey
Shoojit Sircar, known for his unique storytelling and socially relevant films, has directed acclaimed movies such as Vicky Donor, Piku, October, and Gulabo Sitabo.
His latest project, ‘I Want to Talk’, starring Abhishek Bachchan, explores themes of resilience, human connection, and emotional reconciliation.
The film follows the journey of Arjun Sen, a talkative Bengali man who has lived the “American Dream.” When he learns he has only 100 days to live, he is forced to reflect on his life choices. His quest to reconnect with his estranged seven-year-old daughter becomes the heart of the story, making for a deeply emotional and transformative experience.
