New Delhi [India], March 20: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has strongly criticized the plea filed by Disha Salian’s father in the Bombay High Court, calling it a political ploy to divert attention from real issues in Maharashtra.
“This is a symbol of their dirty politics… They are trying to deflect from the real issues of Maharashtra. They feel that they will gain political benefits if they commit such disgusting deeds against the Opposition,” Chaturvedi said.
Fresh Plea Demands Probe Against Aaditya Thackeray
Satish Salian, father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, recently approached the Bombay High Court, demanding a fresh investigation into his daughter’s 2020 death. The petition seeks the registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and calls for the case to be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Disha Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, just days before actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. Both deaths triggered widespread speculation and political controversy.
Investigation Status
In 2023, the Mumbai Police formed a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Salian’s death. The case was initially classified as an accidental death. Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput’s death was handed over to the CBI after immense public and political pressure, with his postmortem report citing asphyxia as the cause of death.
Chaturvedi Criticizes Parliament Adjournments
In addition to her remarks on the Disha Salian case, Chaturvedi also took a dig at the repeated adjournments in Parliament, blaming Home Minister Amit Shah.
“The House is being adjourned continuously because the Home Minister will take one day to recover from Saket Gokhale’s speech in the House yesterday. No issues were addressed in the House today,” she added.
