Shankar Mahadevan Shares His Thrill For Performing At Mahakumbh

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], January 16: Renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan expressed his excitement and gratitude ahead of his live performance at the historic Mahakumbh, calling it a “fortunate” opportunity.

A few hours before taking the stage, Mahadevan spoke about the significance of performing at the grand event. “I am fortunate to have the chance to participate in Mahakumbh. It’s an honour to sing at this historic event, which happens only once every 144 years,” he said.

Earlier, singer Kailash Kher also expressed his joy about performing for the devotees at the Mahakumbh. “The Mahakumbh is a historic festival that represents the essence of Sanatan culture. I’m extremely honoured to perform for the devotees at the Sangam. The Mahakumbh highlights India’s cultural and spiritual strength,” Kher remarked. He also mentioned his plans to take a holy dip at the Sangam.

Encouraging others to visit the Mahakumbh, Kher added, “Everyone should come to Mahakumbh. It offers a deep understanding of Hindu culture.”

Folk singer Malini Awasthi recently attended the event and took a holy dip at the Sangam on Makar Sankranti. Reflecting on the experience, Awasthi said, “The feeling was surreal as we took the holy dip in such cold weather. Even the elderly and children showed remarkable enthusiasm. The event’s management has been exceptional.”

The Mahakumbh, which began on January 13, will continue until February 26. Key bathing dates include January 29 (Mauni Amavasya – Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami – Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).
