Shambhavi Choudhary Criticizes Rabri Devi’s Remarks, Urges Caution In Language

New Delhi [India]: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary on Wednesday criticized former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi for her recent remarks, urging her to be more mindful of her language.

Speaking to media, Choudhary expressed disappointment over what she described as “unparliamentary language,” emphasizing that such behavior was inappropriate for a senior political figure.

“She (Rabri Devi) has been the former Chief Minister of Bihar, and she should choose her words carefully… This kind of unparliamentary language does not suit anyone. My question to her is, what has she done for women? He (Nitish Kumar) has not insulted women in any way,” Choudhary said.

The Bihar Assembly session on Wednesday was marked by heated exchanges, with Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and Rabri Devi fiercely criticizing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and demanding his resignation.

RJD MLAs staged a walkout, alleging that Nitish Kumar and the ruling NDA had disrespected women, including Rabri Devi.

In her remarks, Rabri Devi accused Nitish Kumar of insulting women and claimed that his behavior in the Assembly was inappropriate.

“Nitish Kumar consumes ‘bhaang’ and comes to the Assembly. He disrespects women, including me… He should see the kind of work we did when we were in power. What the people around him say, he speaks the same. His own party members and some BJP leaders are asking him to say such things,” Rabri Devi alleged.

Tejashwi Yadav added to the criticism, stating, “Nitish Kumar should resign himself… Even before him, my father (Lalu Yadav) became an MP. He could not have become CM without us giving the ‘Samarthan Patra’… He should go to an ashram, as he cannot run the government. What is he doing with the future of 14 crore people? Nitish Kumar’s condition is not stable.”

The political tension stems from Nitish Kumar’s remarks on March 7, where he accused the RJD of practicing dynastic politics. He also criticized Lalu Prasad Yadav for appointing his wife, Rabri Devi, as Chief Minister in 1997 after he was jailed in connection with the fodder scam.

“You (RJD leaders) are from the party in which a husband made his wife the CM. They (RJD) have made you (women MLAs of RJD) the MLA, but have you done any work for women? How much work have we done for women? Do you people (RJD) understand that? You people are in the party which has done nothing for women,” Nitish Kumar had said in the Assembly.

In 1997, Lalu Prasad Yadav appointed Rabri Devi as Bihar’s Chief Minister after he was forced to resign following an arrest warrant in the fodder scam case.
