Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: The much-anticipated trailer for Shahid Kapoor’s action thriller Deva has finally been released, offering fans a glimpse into what promises to be an intense, gripping story. The trailer was unveiled at a grand event held in Mumbai on Friday, with Kapoor returning to the action genre as a fearless cop balancing the delicate line between justice and rebellion.

In the high-octane drama’s trailer, a senior officer questions Shahid’s character, Deva, asking whether he is a cop or a mafia member. Shahid, portraying Deva, responds confidently with, “I am… mafia.”
Apart from Shahid Kapoor, the film stars Pooja Hegde in a pivotal role as a journalist. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Zee Studios and Siddharth Roy Kapur, Deva marks Shahid’s return to the big screen after nearly a year, following his appearance in Teri Baaton Mein ‘Aisa Uljha Jiya’, which also starred Kriti Sanon.
During the trailer launch event, Shahid Kapoor also addressed the recent shocking incident involving Saif Ali Khan, who was attacked at his residence in Bandra early Thursday morning. The actor expressed his shock and concern, noting that such incidents are rare in Mumbai, a city widely considered to be very safe.
Saif Ali Khan is currently being treated at Lilavati Hospital after the attack. Shahid shared his thoughts on the incident, saying, “It’s a very sad incident, and the whole fraternity is concerned about him. It’s very difficult to absorb such experiences when they unfold in your personal space, especially in Mumbai. I am sure the police are trying their best. This doesn’t usually happen in Mumbai, as it is a very safe city. We proudly say that girls and our family members are safe on the roads, even at 2-3 a.m. It’s very shocking. We are hoping and praying for him the whole time. We hope that Saif’s health improves and that he is doing better. I think we are all extremely shocked by what happened to him.”
Deva is set to be released in theatres worldwide on January 31.
