Khatkar Kalan, Punjab – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann,On Monday, lay the first stone for the Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Heritage Complex. This huge project is meant to be a passionate tribute to the famous freedom fighter. This grandiose structure, which is expected to cost ₹51.70 crore, would be a major landmark honoring Bhagat Singh’s unique achievements to India’s independence.
CM Mann paid profound floral tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and said that the complex will be finished in nine months. He talked about its mission, saying that it “will serve as a source of inspiration for future generations to serve the country selflessly.” The Chief Minister stressed that this important project is all about keeping and spreading the amazing legacy of “this great son of the soil.”
CM Mann said in an official statement that the facility is meant to be more than just a building. It will give visitors a “unforgettable experience” by letting them see Bhagat Singh’s ultimate sacrifice for his country, learn about his deep thoughts, and see his brave spirit in action.
The envisioned monument will include a big entrance with a theme that leads into Heritage Street, which is 350 meters long. This roadway will connect the current Shaheed Bhagat Singh Museum to his family home. It will tell the complicated story of Bhagat Singh’s life and the larger story of India’s fight for freedom through a lively exhibition of sculptures, 2D/3D wall art, and lifelike mannequins. This immersive setting tries to recreate colonial-era India and take tourists back in time.
Mann further said that the complex would have a 30-meter-high Indian national flag and a fully air-conditioned theater with 700 seats. As part of Heritage Street, there will be a model of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s ancestral home in Lyallpur (now in Pakistan) and a reproduction of his ancestral village. This is a very unique feature.
The Chief Minister further said that Bhagat Singh’s ancestral home in Khatkar Kalan will be carefully restored and preserved. There are also plans for a new digital version of Shaheed Bhagat Singh’s trial in court that would take tourists back to that important time and illustrate how passionate he was about revolution.
Mann also said that the library that is already in the complex will be updated and made digital, so that everyone may have an immersive and informative experience. Along with the historical and educational parts of the complex, there will also be modern amenities like a Tourist Facilitation Centre, cottages for visitors, beautiful landscaping, a musical fountain, and plenty of parking. All of this will make sure that everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
