Amit Shah Criticizes AAP, Promises Relief To Delhi’s Slum Dwellers Ahead Of Assembly Polls

New Delhi [India]: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday, alleging mismanagement and corruption in Delhi under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership. Speaking at a ‘Slum Dwellers’ conference in New Delhi, Shah criticized Kejriwal’s government and vowed that the BJP would bring relief to Delhi’s slum residents if elected in the upcoming assembly elections.

Taking a jibe at Kejriwal, Shah remarked, “The toilet in Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’ is more expensive than the slums in Delhi,” and confidently asserted that February 5 would mark the end of the “AAP-da” in the city.

Shah emphasized the BJP’s commitment to addressing the grievances of slum dwellers. “The BJP has listened to the pain, inconvenience, and anger of slum dwellers against broken promises. We’ve compiled a list of all your problems and handed it to BJP national president JP Nadda and Prime Minister Modi. The BJP manifesto is a guarantee of Prime Minister Modi, unlike the hollow promises of the ‘AAP-da’,” he said.

The Home Minister further accused the Kejriwal-led government of failing to address key issues. “People in Delhi’s slums are getting dirty water and breathing polluted air. Arvind Kejriwal has done nothing for the last 10 years. If he cannot act, he should step down, and the BJP will deliver what the people of Delhi need,” he asserted.

Shah pledged that the BJP, under PM Modi’s leadership, would ensure housing for all slum dwellers. “PM Modi has already provided homes to over 3.58 crore poor people across the country. Every slum resident in Delhi will receive a permanent house. Meanwhile, Kejriwal’s extravagant lifestyle and expensive projects, like his ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ stand in stark contrast to the plight of the city’s poor,” he added.

Criticizing the AAP’s governance, Shah accused the party of betraying its anti-corruption roots. “Those who once leveraged Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption movement to gain power have now committed unprecedented corruption. Kejriwal and his party have become disasters for Delhi. While the rest of the country progresses, Delhi sinks deeper into chaos. Dirty water flows from taps, garbage piles up on streets, and the Yamuna remains polluted. This is what the ‘AAP-da’ has done to Delhi,” Shah said.

He also highlighted the broader implications of AAP’s governance. “They’ve deceived slum dwellers, misled Yamuna residents, and betrayed Anna Hazare. Their betrayal didn’t stop in Delhi; they’ve done the same in Punjab,” he added.

The Delhi Assembly elections are set for February 5, with vote counting on February 8.
