Amit Shah Calls Partition A “Tragedy,” Blames Congress For Division

Union Home Minister Amit Shah utilized X (previously Twitter) on Thursday to honor division Horrors Remembrance Day. This day was set aside by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2021 to recall the pain caused by the division of India. Shah called the partition a “tragedy” and a source of anguish that lasts. He said that the Congress party was to blame for “dividing the nation into pieces” and “hurting the pride of Mother India.”

Shah honored the millions of people who were forced to leave their homes, died, or suffered violence and other terrible things during the partition. He said that the country would “never forget this history and pain.”

The BJP’s official X account also shared a video that echoed Shah’s feelings and blamed the “deceit of Congress,” “Nehru’s greed,” and the “divisive tactics of the Muslim League” for the partition. The goal of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, which is celebrated every year on August 14, is to remind people of the sacrifices and suffering that happened during that time.
