Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi paid a heartfelt tribute to her father, legendary poet Kaifi Azmi, on his 23rd death anniversary.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Azmi shared a nostalgic black-and-white childhood photograph of herself with her father. Alongside the image, she penned a deeply emotional note:
“Abba… 23 years since you left, but you live on in every pore of my being.“

Remembering Kaifi Azmi
Born as Sayyid Athar Hussein Rizvi on January 14, 1919, in Uttar Pradesh, Kaifi Azmi penned his first poem at the tender age of 11. Over the decades, he emerged as one of India’s most revered Urdu poets, known for his progressive writing and socially conscious themes. He passed away on May 10, 2002, leaving behind a legacy celebrated across generations.

On the professional front, Shabana Azmi was last seen in the crime drama series Dabba Cartel. Released on February 28, the series featured an ensemble cast including Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, and others.
