On Friday, Gomez took to her Instagram Story with an enthusiastic message:
“YES, YOU DID THAT, TAY. SO PROUD!”
Earlier, Swift posted on Instagram sharing three photos of herself happily surrounded by her early albums. Sporting a light purple top, jeans, and her iconic red lipstick, Swift captioned the post with a nod to her 2008 hit:
“You belong with me.”
This announcement is especially significant given the history behind Swift’s catalogue. Almost six years ago, her music was sold to executive Scooter Braun without her consent. Braun later sold it to Shamrock Capital, prompting Swift to re-record her albums as “Taylor’s Version” to reclaim ownership.
