Security Forces Continue Search Operations In Jammu And Kashmir; Kupwara Police Raid Separatist Locations

Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir), March 26: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir continued their search operations in the Saniyal area of Hiranagar for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, aided by drone technology. The operation began on Sunday night after receiving intelligence regarding the potential presence of terrorists. A joint operation was launched by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the troops of the Rising Star Corps in the region.

Meanwhile, in Kupwara, police continued their crackdown on banned separatist organisations. On Tuesday, multiple raids were conducted across the district targeting individuals linked to proscribed outfits such as Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Muslim League, and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party.

Raids were carried out in the villages of Kralpora, Khurhama, the town of Kupwara, and Trussu Dragmulla. The operations, led by senior police officers, focused on residences of separatists suspected of engaging in activities that threaten public order and national security.

During the searches, law enforcement officials seized materials linked to the banned groups, which are now being investigated as part of multiple FIRs filed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The raids were carried out with the presence of Magistrates and independent witnesses to ensure full legal compliance and transparency.

Kupwara Police reiterated its commitment to dismantling unlawful networks and taking strict action against those attempting to disturb peace and stability in the region. Similar search operations were also conducted in Kulgam district targeting suspected members of unlawful associations.
