Security Forces Apprehend Two Suspects In Bandipora; Weapons And Ammunition Recovered

Bandipora (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]: In a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF, two suspects were apprehended at Gandbal-Hajin Road in Bandipora based on specific intelligence input.

During the operation on Wednesday, security forces recovered a pistol, one pistol magazine, two hand grenades, one AK magazine, and other ammunition. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is currently underway.

In a related development, security forces have been intensifying operations across various regions in Manipur. Indian Army soldiers, along with Assam Rifles under the Spear Corps, recently conducted extensive operations in Jiribam, Tengnoupal, Kakching, Ukhrul, Imphal East, and Imphal West districts in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP.

These operations led to the recovery of 25 weapons, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition, and other war-like stores. Security forces also destroyed bunkers in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district.

In the Bidyanagar and New Alipur villages of Jiribam district, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and CRPF seized three pump-action shotguns, one double-barrel rifle, ammunition, and other war-like supplies.

In Senam, Tengnoupal district, security forces recovered 11 weapons, including two INSAS rifles, two carbines, two pistols, one rifle, four improvised mortars, 13 IEDs, grenades, ammunition, and war-like equipment.

In Kakching district’s Hangul area, five weapons were recovered, including one carbine, one .22 rifle, one single-barrel firearm, one modified .303 rifle, and one single-barrel bolt-action rifle.

Meanwhile, in the Moirang Kampu area of Imphal East district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police seized one pistol, ammunition, and other war-like stores.

Additionally, security forces operating in the Thawai Kuki/Litan area of Ukhrul district recovered four weapons, including two 81mm mortars, one 51mm mortar, one improvised mortar, ammunition, and war-like supplies.

All recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police for further investigation and appropriate action.
